In the past, valves that were made out of stainless steel and other metals were the traditional and popular choice. Just because plastic valves are more popular now than ever doesn't mean that they are the only type of valve that you should buy. Instead, you may want to consider buying valves that are made out of stainless steel. Some of the reasons why stainless steel valves are a great choice when compared to plastic valves are outlined below.
1. They Can Handle Higher Levels of Pressure
First of all, depending on what your company is going to be using its valves for, there is the possibility that your valves will need to be able to withstand high levels of water pressure or steam pressure. Plastic valves might not be able to handle these higher levels of pressure, but stainless steel typically can without any problems.
If you aren't going to be using high levels of pressure, then plastic might work well for your company's needs. However, stainless steel valves are typically the better, sounder choice if your valves are going to be exposed to high levels of pressure.
2. They Can Handle Very Hot and Cold Temperatures
Temperature extremes might be something that you will need to be prepared for when choosing your valves. If your valves will need to be able to handle extremely cold liquids or extremely hot steam, for example, then you have to worry about whether those valves will be able to handle these extreme temperatures.
Stainless steel valves can become very hot or cold to the touch when you're using them with high and low temperatures, so it is important to be mindful of that for safety and comfort purposes. However, despite this, they should be able to handle these temperatures without a major problem.

When working with valves that are made out of plastic, there is the possibility that they could be cracked and damaged. They could be damaged during installation or everyday use.
Stainless steel can obviously be damaged, too, but it's a much more durable material than plastic. You typically do not have to worry about stainless steel valves cracking during installation or typical use. Overall, stainless steel valves are more likely to hold up well in strenuous industrial applications.
Plastic valves are a popular choice for many industrial applications, but this doesn't mean that they are the best choice. Instead, you may want to consider stainless steel valves for the three reasons above.
